The Panvel Toll Naka Issue – Everything You Needed to Know

The citizens of Panvel, Kharghar, Kalamboli, Kamothe and other areas have been given respite from the Kharghar Toll. Vehicles with licence plates MH-46 and MH-06 will not be charged toll. This is heartening news for the people who were protesting against the toll naka at the destination. The actions and resulting discussions have taken interesting turns.
The anti-toll protest had been spearheaded young Indian politicians and Panvel MLA Prashant Thakur, part of the Indian National Congress. They staged a street protest on the day of the inauguration of the toll plaza. As a result, Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan held a meeting with Prashant Thakur assuring the latter that his demands would be met. Vehicles with licence numbers MH-46 and MH-06 were thus exempted from the toll. Also, he proposed to formulate a committee of young Indian politicians including Prashant Thakur to check the feasibility of eliminating all toll plazas from Maharashtra. Further updates on it are pending.

This toll naka was proposed for recovering the 1,220 crores paid by Public Works Department (PWD) for building the road from Kharghar to Panvel. After the original plan of the toll plaza was shelved, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar opined that CIDCo should pay the amount, which CIDCo openly denied. “Just because an organization is cash rich, it doesn’t mean we look after the whole of India”, said an official. “How can we put all our money in one road project simply because it falls in our jurisdiction?” The jury is still out on this debate.
With an eye on the 2014 Maharashtra Elections, each politician seems in the mood to score brownie points for his party. The Panvel toll plaza issue is running in circles when the resolution could have been simpler. However, what matters is that the issue of public interest has been taken care of for now. No one knows how the 2014 Maharashtra Elections will pan out, and what decisions the ruling party may take after that.

The outcome of election results in Maharashtra, Bihar and 9 other states to be held this year holds the key to India’s future in the next few years. The BJP had a thumping victory in the Central Lok Sabha elections this year, but needs the support of state governments to be able to implement policies which it considers beneficial. If the BJP comes into power in these State governments, pushing these policies will become substantially easier. However, other parties come into power, they may thwart the BJP’s attempts to implement policies and legislations, making the latter’s campaign for the 2017 Elections difficult. Hence we are seeing a lot of clamour over proposed policies. Many populist moves like reservation for Muslims and Marathas in Maharashtra (which will mostly be rejected) and proposing and later withdrawing the Panvel toll plaza are hogging the news. We need young Indian politicians to take some radical steps which surprise common man and are aimed at progress and development. However, the possibilities of it appear quite bleak. For now, we can ensure that we vote and bring the right politicians who canvass growth and development to power.

The Young Blood of Politicians is ready to step up in Maharashtra

The young politicians are ready to step up one level higher to place their base in the country. In order to achieve it, one of their ways is speaking up more about their opinion than the previous generation did because they want to be heard in the middle of seniority. From Maharashtra, they speak one mission that is to make a better change in India, but with the loud voice.

Like the previous generation, they speak about the welfare and the social and as far as they are concerned, they see both topics with the common sense. From their concern, they give a different value to both the topics because they as the younger ones have the right to speak up and express themselves by any mean.
As one of their means, you can see many of them gather in  certain mediums and speak their thoughts. The way they speak in the media shows that they are far more relaxed and more tolerant with the broad range of topics. They may have different opinions with the elders, but they deliver their tone calmer than the elders. They may speak about new ideas with the elders, but they have some efforts to make the huge change in order to improve their idea or maybe change the elder’s way of thinking.  How about the result of their loud voice?
They are ready to take any result because they have a spirit to keep fighting for what they believe to make India better. They will take any measure to do the lobbies, so at least they have a place among the established Maharashtra politicians.
In spite of speaking up their voice, the young politicians also secure their hot spot in those  political parties that are pro to the youngsters, in the parliament, and in many political organizations. By this way, they want to smooth their way so they can step up to the next level of bureaucracy. And, who will get the benefits of their actions?
They expect the citizens, all Indian citizens, to get the benefits. They see all citizens as the crucial factor which can bring the improvement to the country. They urge and encourage all citizens with their voice and political actions so the citizens have an awareness to make a positive changing in the conservative system.
Of course, this is will be different with the change of the tradition. The change of the tradition will take a very long period because the tradition is the breath of one country. The young bloods are smart fellows because they understand about the difficulty to change the tradition. They choose to change the old systems that bring any corrupt idea towards all citizens. They expect the better system so there is a fair opportunity that every citizen can be treated in the equal way. They also expect to create a ladder for young political leaders of India in the present.

Place the Nation in the Hands of Young Political Leaders of India

When you find out the word ‘Politics’, what usually comes to your  mind are the image of politicians, government  and their policies, and to a greater extent in a wrong aspect, white lies, cheating tricks, lure of power and dirty tricks.

The main definition has been varied and almost vanished by such by such portrayal and platitude that try not to point a finger on  the true essence or quality that defines the thing called politics.

An Indian politician till now was a clad in white, false promises, vague speeches and uneducated old man thanks to awareness and education this picture of politics has changed today.

As they are called the young ‘Turks’, have held  the entire nation with their views about everything and anything.

Young political leaders of India like Sipiparai Ravichandra, Priya Dutt, Rahul Gandhi, Madhu Goud, Sachin Pilot, Omar Abdullah, Milind Deora and Jyotiraditya Scindia boast the Indian political scene. They are developed, they are new and they are political leaders. All these young ones have a serious aim to dish up their country and change it for the betterment. It’s true that the upper limit number of the young politicians is heir of a political family, but even so, they are welcomed and now we have a bunch of young faces, up on that federal stage. They are a gripping group's earnest and energetic, who want to toss away the status quoits’ hold that wraps the administrative and political organization of the state.

Rising young politicians have adopted a change in Indian government. As they have essential foresight a lot is expected from this young breed of destination-oriented and enthusiastic people. These young political leaders of India need to overpass the gap between the upper echelons and the general populace of the political leadership. They chose to move into a new aspects to solve the queries expeditiously. They have to control in tandem with address pressing topics and experienced political leadership. They require to be outstanding and progressive. In todays time every citizen knows the fact that there is a necessity of smart ideas and fresh leadership that are important to look into the critical challenges that the nation is facing. The most difficult thing to do while trying to transmit this change is the entire force  of our system that has been made over the period of time of administration and this impulse resists change.

Their vitality and imagination has been imperiled by uncertainty, which is conceitedly propelled by the organization, and this has stopped them in their courses. It is for people to infer that only the combination of energy, experience and enthusiasm will lead India to better and newer heights. As if for now, the state is gearing up for a fresh political sunrise infused with a deepened sense of political awareness; the future of new  India lies with young politicians; and India’s growth depends on this new political category.

Interesting Read: A Small Commentary About Young Politicians In India

India is one of those countries that have revered politicians have almost gained cult status rather than an image of being a public servant. Right from the beginning, most of the politicians have been old men in their fifties and sixties or above. The young ones have been in their late forties. That is why one of the stereotypes of politicians in India has been old men (and also women), wearing the traditional garb or the Swadeshi inspired dhoti and Kurta or the traditional saree. However, this doesn’t seem to stay forever.

With the changing times, the demographics of the politics are also changing. For the last few decades, especially since the 2000s, India has witnessed the rise of young politicians in its political sphere. These politicians, unlike their older counterparts are not the usual old hags in nearing their end, but more of people in younger age groups who are keen to do something. However, the irony here is that these young Indian politicians are not really ‘young’ but middle aged men and women who have entered politics only after observing their senior family members play the games. This brings us to yet another fact about these so called young politicians.

Most of these, in fact, all of them are not new or independent entrants into the vast and the brutal jungle called Indian Politics, but are rather successors to their parents who have been hunting (or getting hunted) here for decades. One can say that they have gained that political mileage and position not by their own hard work or independent efforts, but by the blessings of heirloom. There is a ton of such examples in the Indian political scenario to witness. In fact, even those who are not into politics as a subject of interest, will be able to tell you the names of these so called young politicians.

Additionally, there is a great misconception about this relatively young demographic of politicos in India. Many people assume that since they are young, their mentality and thought process would differ greatly from the mainstream old politicians and hence they will be the ones who will talk the language of progress, rather than engaging in cheap caste and communal based vote bank gimmicks and populist nonsense. This is so far from the truth, given that they are just carrying the banner of their predecessors further. So in a way, they are just the younger versions of their parents and not any reformist revolutionaries.

Here is a quick mention of few young politicians in India.

Agatha Sangma: She is the daughter of a prominent politician and Lok Sabha speaker P.A Sangma is U.K educated and has shown interest towards rural development.

Akhilesh Yadav: Yet another product of dynastic politics, Akhilesh Yadav is the son of the Mulayam Singh Yadav and is equally inept in ruling the massive state of U.P
